After dispatching the first payslips produced by LivePay we were quietly confident but it was still with some nervousness that we waited for the telephone to ring in the payroll department. There were only about half a dozen employees with queries out of a total of nearly 1200.
This was no small achievement as we had become accustomed to regularly having to deal with many more than this from our previous service. Together with CCM we had completed two parallel runs, which had gone well although the transfer to LivePay was somewhat hampered by the quality of data produced from our old system.
A joint effort between us and CCM, LivePay went live on schedule and on budget. Initially we just wanted to move to a more responsive and flexible service that could address issues of accurate management reporting and improve the quality of reporting. The ad-hoc report writer in LivePay has easily provided that. In the longer term we intend to improve communication with our outlying locations and rolling out the web browser access will really come into its own then.
